The confidence that Alyssa has gained from working hard at her skills learned here has been monumental. It has helped her to come out of her quiet shell.
The fact that they are able to maintain Collin’s focus would be unbelievable if I didn’t witness his growth myself. Collin has a critical, genetic, & catastrophic seizure disorder (Dravet Syndrome). With this comes global developmental delays with both fine & gross motor skills. Couple that with his Autism and these instructors are miracle workers. I love that we feel they love my children.
However, an activity was offered during my daughter’s summer camp (she was 5 at the time) And then we were invited to see an in person session that she could participate in. She was so excited to show us so us and we decided to enroll in the program with the knowledge we could leave after the first 30 days if it wasn’t for us.
I was worried about a few things: my daughter is nervous in large, loud groups and she is very sensory averse to clothing (uniforms). The team at Action was extremely understanding and worked with us through our concerns.
She has now been there about 3 months and her growth has been so noticeable. Her confidence is up, she is loud and proud during class, she is excited to go, learn, engage, and listen. It’s sort of wild how quickly she felt empowered.
Now to talk about the team and how they have the program set up. What a great group of people they have running this facility. I can’t even begin to imagine how many students they have but they all greet my daughter by name and remember what areas she needs to focus on. They are kind, run a tight ship, and can navigate a group of 3-6 year olds with impressive compassion and structure. What I love is that we, as parents, get to be engaged. We are right on the sideline watching, they speak to us directly during class and let us be a part of activities while still giving the kids independence.
We’ve really enjoyed our time with Action and look forward to seeing our daughter grow even more over the next year!
As an instructor here, I feel truly honored to be part of a school that is so passionate about helping students grow — not just as martial artists, but as confident, respectful, and focused individuals. I started during Action Karate’s Mother’s Day special where moms train free for the month of May. I was anxious and timid and didn’t feel like I belonged sharing the mat with the incredible students this school has. I was so wrong. Every single person welcomed me so warmly and has helped guide me to becoming a better martial artist. What began as a month free, has turned into a passion of something I found I absolutely love and want to continue. I never would have explored this if not for the welcoming of Action Karate, or without the confidence Mr. Wildrick, Miss Miranda, and Mr. Bittner helped me find.
This school is so much more than just a karate school. It is a whole community, a family. If you are thinking of getting involved with martial arts, Action Karate is the place to go!!
Just to expand on this review, my daughter has been here a bit longer and the other day was having a rough day. Ms. Miranda went out of her way to check on my child and I couldn’t be more pleased and grateful for the instructors.
My health has also improved, a big bonus, boosting my confidence in sports. They offer plenty of weekly classes for kids and adults, plus on-demand. I leave class feeling excellent that I did it. Plus, the new studio space is in a great location. Five stars all the way and every day.
