We have all built confidence, gained focus, and had a lot of fun. When the kids used to tell me they were tired after a class, I didn't believe them, but after about 6 months of training, I can verify classes do leave you tired in the best way.
Classes build techniques in both martial arts and self defense, give you an opportunity to meet and train people who you might never have gotten to meet otherwise, and usually end a cool down that makes you think a little bit. There are many opportunities to get to know the school community throughout the year - trunk or treat, holiday social, bring mom/dad/sibling/friend to karate weeks/months, so on and so forth. I can honestly say that many of the people I feel most connected with I met at Dinoto.
My personal favorite thing about DKC is they are very welcoming of everyone - there is no need to be anywhere near the "stereotypical martial artists". There are students in all stages of life, all ability levels, all shapes and sizes, who all work to achieve their personal goals. Want to become a Tang Soo do Master? Great - there's roughly a half dozen Masters beyond Master Magill and Master Liciaga who would love to help you. Want to just move more but are shy? Great, we have people on the mats (like me) that were where you're at at one point too - they can help encourage you. Afraid you're too old? Come to the 7:15 adults class, which usually has multiple people who will show you age is just a number. Worried that your kid with special needs will struggle? I personally have trained in classes with students with multiple types of different abilities, and all were treated with respect, dignity, and encouragement to continue making progress at they're level. My youngest has Down syndrome and I know that there's no place I trust more for her to learn karate than Dinoto.
Give Dinoto a try. Hopefully, you will be able to find as much enjoyment from being there as my family has.
Along with amazing karate classes, my son just had his birthday party at Dinoto with 40+ kids (with nunchucks) and they ran the party like clockwork! Everything went by so smoothly and I didn't have to worry about a thing! I highly recommend Dinoto for anyone looking to start their karate journey or for a fun, unique birthday party option (even if they are not already enrolled in karate).
My 4-year-old son has been attending Action Karate, and I couldn’t be more impressed! From the very first class, the atmosphere was welcoming, energetic, and so encouraging. The instructors are fantastic, but I have to give special praise to Master Liciaga—he is truly amazing! His passion for teaching and dedication to the students shine through in every lesson. He knows how to engage young kids while instilling important values like discipline, confidence, and respect.
Since starting classes, my son has improved in so many ways—his focus, listening skills, and overall confidence have grown tremendously. He looks forward to every session and comes home excited to show off what he’s learned. The structured lessons keep the kids active and engaged while making learning fun.

I was hesitant joining at 48 years young, but the instructors are well focused on the abilities of the students wheather they are earning their white belt, or adding another degree to their black belt.
I grew up with The Karate Kid movies, and wanted to learn Karate when I was younger, but I didn't want to "fight" like they did in the movies. Dinoto Karate Center definitely proved my judgment wrong. The atmosphere is very training focused, with a family feel. There is no strike first, strike hard, no mercy; it is all about respect and learning the arts.
When you are ready to try the martial arts, make sure you give Dinoto Karate Center a try, you won't be disappointed!
