Best karate studio around because it has the best instructors and teammates:) Along with the incredible physical benefits and mental discipline gained from doing martial arts, the community at this studio is amazing. I love working alongside the other teammates to help each other reach our goals. The encouragement and support here is the best! Kids classes are fun and engaging - adult classes are challenging but fun. So glad my family joined!

My daughter rejoined Action Karate HV about 5 years ago. During covid she participated in zoom classes. After covid she went back to going to the school. I would drive her and sit in the parents area and watch.About 15 years ago I went to Action Karate HV for about 5 years. I loved karate, but I started working a night job and could no longer make it to the classes.During the 10 years I was away from Action Karate HV I had a retinal tear and then lung cancer which eventually metastasized to the brain. I was originally given 18 months to live. My amazing doctors through radiation, chemo, and chemo pills have kept me alive, cancer free, and mostly healthy. I have some side effects, like vertigo, but i'm essentially fine to lead a normal life. The head instructor , Mr. Atkins, would ask me from time why I wasn't on the floor. I told about my lung radiation, vertigo and retinal tear. Those issues would prevent me from being able to run, jump and spin. His response was "so? We can work around all that."About 18 months ago Mr. Atkins talked me into going to a punching class. Lots of punching and kicking just to relieve the anxiety from the past week. I loved it! I felt stronger, my lung capacity increased, and my vertigo somewhat decreased. Most importantly, I felt more like myself again.Eventually Mr. Atkins talked me into going to adult class one day a week. I loved being on the floor for regular class again. Not only were the instructors encouraging, but the kids and other adults in the class were also welcoming and encouraging. My favorite part was the light sparring we did. Punches and kicks were thrown with speed, not power. Light contact but nothing that would leave a bruise.Mr. Atkins then convinced me to try out sparring class on Thursdays. I tried it and now it's my favorite time of the week. I can't take head shots because of only having one good retina so I don't wear a helmet and my teammates know not to hit me there. In about 9 months I went from sitting and watching to participating 3 days a week. I love my karate family! The instructors, Mr. Atkins, Mr. Franscone, and Mr. Peyton are all fantastic, and I've make friends with around 50 or so of my teammates and their families (especially you "Counterclockwise").I feel that karate has done as much for my mental and physical health as my doctors have keeping me cancer free. On the wall of our Dojo it says, "It's okay to struggle, but it's not okay to quit." Not only does that makes sense in karate, but it's a great motto for life in general. Every time I struggle with something I think of that and take a breath.Brian Schwartz

My Black Belt Journey at AKHV began in 2018 when my seven-year-old daughter joined her school's karate club with Mr. Clark. She loved it so much, she asked to continue training at AKHV. The following January, when the school offered free training for parents, I joined her and caught the karate bug myself. The words on the school's walls, "It's okay to struggle, it's not okay to quit," perfectly reflects my experience. Despite life's challenges, including a pandemic, financial and physical struggles, and subsequent breaks in 2020 and 2024, I always returned to AKHV.My daughter trained from 2018 to 2024, joined by her sister from 2021 to 2024. I've been training since January 2019. Our family proudly includes a Junior Black Belt, a First Degree Black Belt, and a Red Belt. The instructors at AKHV are excellent, particularly Master Atkins and Mr. Frascone. They patiently answer our questions and hold us accountable both in and out of the dojo. My training at AKHV has significantly contributed to my personal fitness goals. I'm incredibly happy and proud of my decision to step onto the mat in January 2019.

Action karate has been nothing but a wonderful experience since my son Joshua started two years ago. When Joshua first started at Action karate he was having a hard time interacting with people and didn't have much confidence in himself. With the help from the staff there, I have watched Joshua's confidence blossom with every belt that he earned. Joshua struggles with ADHD. The staff at Action karate has been understanding with him and know that not everyday is going to be a good day. But they still help him make the best of the day. Thank you so much Action karate!

Action Karate Huntington Valley is a welcoming karate school with an awesome team of passionate and dedicated individuals. I love it here because the instructors are always smiling, seemingly enjoying themselves, kindly and respectfully corrects mistakes / behaviors and has taught my 6 year old son things that’ll stick with him throughout his life. We’ve been attending for about 3 years and my son is so much more confident, disciplined, helps more at home (without asking most times), participates in school, shows grit and displays better self-control as well as self-defense. I truly believe the saying “it takes a village to raise a child” and I can happily say Action Karate Huntington Valley is certainly a part of our village.

Action Karate Huntingdon Valley helps foster and develop children's overall growth: physical and moral. The teachers truly take a whole person approach to developing the children, and help their work ethic, sense of gratitude, and their self-confidence. Yes, the karate instruction is top notch, but more importantly, the instruction is phenomenal in regards to fostering overall personal growth.

THelton-The struggle throughout the martial art experience was keeping a well balanced mind and preserving through the times where it would be more challenging than other times. But practicing the things that were challenging made it easier and gave me more confidence than doubt. Action Karate HV motivated me to keep trying and keep preserving even if things didn’t flow the first time.

Action Karate Huntingdon Valley is top-notch when it comes to introducing your children (and the entire family) to karate and martial arts. In addition to developing the expected physical skills of karate, my kids are learning to focus, help others, have discipline and respect, be good listeners, and never give up. We are at Action Karate several times a week - the improvements and skills my kids are learning is quite impressive. I also have to mention all tiers of the instructors there who are world-class when it comes to karate, and also when it comes to having patients and knowing just how to address the varying personalities of all of the little kids to are taking this first step into the martial arts. 110% Recommended!

Action karate of Huntingdon Valley is the best karate program for kids - HANDS DOWN. The level of involvement from every member of their teaching staff is outstanding. I have never experienced a more caring, educational and FUN place for kids. Their back office staff is incredibly organized, timely and never fails to respond immediately to any parent questions or concerns. My son loves coming for his weekly lessons and I love watching him grow and flourish under their guidance. In addition we had my son's 7th birthday there - Fifteen 6 and 7 year old boys were captivated from the moment they walked in. The kids and parents all gushed to me about how it was the most fun and best birthday they had been to! I am a huge fan of Action Karate of HV and recommend them to anyone (kids or adults) who want to try a karate program!!!

My Black Belt Journey: Askia Muhammad, My black belt journey began at Action Karate HV back in 2020. My love for karate movies was my inspiration to learn. Since joining Action Karate, I have gained strength, self-discipline, and confidence. Black belt training has been difficult. My instructors are tough, but they push me to believe in myself. My goal is to one day be a black belt instructor! I hope to continue to be a member of the Action Karate community for as long as I can.

I've been training at Action Karate HV for over four years now. To say that I have enjoyed it is a bit of an understatement. The instructors have provided opportunities for me to do things I never thought that I would do. Not only is it fun, but I've developed new friendships and look forward to going to class. I started training at Action HV because I saw they way that Mr. Clark, Mr. Atkins and Mr. Mat worked with my son who was 3 at the time. I not only recommend the school, but continue to train after earning my first degree black belt.
If you're looking for a karate school for your child to learn self-discipline, focus, and concentration then you've come to the right place. The instructors here are fantastic at cultivating young minds, using karate as the art to improve results. Our daughter has had self-control and self-discipline issues and we've noticed a huge improvement from her training. Our entire family now trains at the school, including my wife and I. We love training here, and love the respectfulness that training in the martial arts has brought to our family.
I never imagined that when we had my son's 6th birthday party (3 years ago) that I would find myself training as well. The community of Huntingdon Valley AC, is welcoming and after mom's free in May, I was hooked. Family class is my favorite time! I get to work with my kids and the many other families to keep getting stronger together.

Our journey with Action Katate HV startedwith our youngest son who started at 4 years old. I started training shortly after him. 16 years later we are still at AKHV and it's best investment we could have ever made for our family. The instructors genuinely care for their students and want them to succeed in all facets. I can attest that they build not only strong martial artists, but also individuals of strong character, resilient minds, and inspiring confidence. I count myself proud to be part of the Action HV family.

My name is Stephen G and next month on December 4th will be 8 years since I started at Action Karate Huntingdon Valley as a 4 year old. It has been very challenging but my instructors have always met my needs to make me successful. They have been great mentors and have instilled in me a valuable sense of self worth and confidence that has carried over into my social interactions and success with my schoolwork. I feel my physical, mental and emotional development has benefitted from my karate instruction and I want to strive for many degrees beyond my Adult Black Belt next month. I am nervous but also happy and excited to be challenged because I know I am prepared.
