I joined the adult program back in February after being member of a different karate business for a while. I love Action Karate, the teachers are very motivating and I have learned discipline and commitment in just a few short months. I love the fitness aspect of the classes but I also love that they take time to really explain the self defense moves. It's very clean and I enjoy working with all the people that attend. If you are on the fence you should join! Mr. Riley is the best, I love when he teaches.

I don't have enough words to describe how wonderful Action Karate Doylestown is! Mr. Riley, Ms. Nicole, and Ms. Maria are absolutely incredible! They are so patient with young children, yet they instill focus, discipline, and confidence in such a such a great way! So glad we switched to Action Karate from another dojo in the area. In particular, my youngest daughter has completely blossomed in the welcoming and comforting environment created by their experienced teachers. Their instruction feels more deliberate and focused on practical skills for the real world. After trying a few places in the Doylestown area even for myself, I wouldn't recommend any other dojo for families.

My son just moved into the 7+ kids class. The staff at action karate is so supportive and fun with the kids. Leo is excited to attend his classes and continue to learn. In addition to fitness, they teach kids how to focus and persevere- I have found this has translated to life outside action karate as well in other sports and school. Ms. Nicole and Mr. Riley also have an amazing ability to remember every single person’s name and give individual encouragement and support regardless of how many kids in the class. Highly recommend!

Our daughter has been with Action Karate for almost a year now and I can confidently say that it has been such a positive outlet for her. Over this last year I have seen her confidence skyrocket both on and off the mat, her strength (both mentally and physically) improves, & incredible improvement on her discipline and self-control. each week I notice a tiny step forward in her growth, and even on those rough days (which are of course inevitable) we are able to incorporate things she has learned while in the class. The instructors are incredible; the dedication, patience, and encouragement they have for each individual child and the class as a whole truly solidifies that starting here was a great decision. They want your child to succeed as much as you do; any concerns you may have, or help needed they are more than willing to work WITH you to come up with a plan to better help your child (even with work to take home). I highly recommend Action Karate Doylestown. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Action Karate Doylestown has been a great experience for my two 5 year olds! All the instructors, Mr. Riley, Miss Nicole and Miss Maria go above and beyond to make sure the kids are individually excelling and having the best experience possible. We are so happy to have found this place for our son. We were looking for patience from the instructors because our 3.5 year old was all over the place - could not sit still, loses focus quickly, etc.. Miss Nicole assured us that with time, we would see the effects of karate, and she wasn’t wrong. We started in July and although we thought it would never stick for him, he’s developed a love for karate and the discipline. The instructors have been amazing - Mr. Riley is such a great role model and Miss Marie does a fantastic job of updating us with our son’s progress. The key is positive reinforcement and this Action Karate does that well! There is never a day my son says no to karate class and that’s all we want for him.

Joining action Karate was one of the best decisions we could have made for our son. He looks forward to going to class every week. He tells us that his favorite part of the day is seeing Miss Nicole, Mr Riley and Miss Maria. They really know how to make class fun while learning at the same time! The progress he had made has been incredible! They also talk about things like the importance of listening, team work, confidence and much more along with learning karate. I joined Action Karate on a whim to try something new in January 2025 and now go 3-4 x/wk. I had some martial art experience but it had been years since practiced. I have come to love going to classes and feel I am missing out if I can’t go. The adult classes are a great community of people, encouraging and helpful. We absolutely love Action Karate Doylestown! I’m so grateful we found this place - it has truly helped my daughter build both strength and confidence!! When she first started, she struggled with severe social anxiety and was extremely nervous in public settings. At her very first class, she was so anxious that she couldn’t even move at the beginning. Thanks to the patience, encouragement, and support from Ms. Nicole and Mr. Riley, she slowly relaxed and ended class with a big smile on her face. Now, after a year and a half of training, she looks forward to every class. The whole team is incredibly welcoming, friendly, and supportive, and my daughter always feels excited to be there. We love it at Action Karate in Doylestown! The staff here is a huge reason why it’s such a great place! They naturally connect so well with all the kids and make it so welcoming! My 4 year old is always so excited to go to class every week. My kids started attending Action Karate of Doylestown in June, and they instantly fell in love with it. We’ve had such a great experience with Action Karate in Doylestown! Since our 4-year-old started attending classes, we’ve seen a huge improvement in both focus and self-control. Mr. Riley and Ms. Nicole are incredibly patient, engaging, and know exactly how to work with young kids to keep them motivated and excited to learn.

Action karate Doylestown is a very special place, in just a few short months our son has grown to love his karate experience and that has everything to do with his instructors Mr. Riley and Miss Nicole. They are patient, kind, caring and infinitely knowledgeable. I cannot recommend Action Karate Doylestown enough! Our experience has been amazing! Our daughter started out as someone’s guest for a “bring a friend” night and has been going ever since. She learns so much; not only about self defense but also about being responsible, confident, and well-disciplined. Miss Nicole and Mr Riley have been amazing! My son’s confidence has gone up 100%! I’ve witnessed him calming himself down mid meltdown by taking a deep breath and saying “this is not how a ninja acts”. Miss Nicole and Mr Riley at Action Karate has really done wonders. I HIGHLY recommend them!!

I am constantly trying to teach my kids about values, morals, responsibility and discipline... I repeat, sometimes I lecture, and just hope its sticks.

We signed our son up for classes a year ago and were amazed at the overwhelmingly positive environment they have created for their classes. His confidence has grown so much that he has even joined the leadership program! My daughter started taking lessons about 2 months ago and absolutely loves it!! She is thriving under the tutelage of both Ms Nicole and Mr Riley! She got so into it that she got myself back into it - I trained 30 years ago and forgot how much I loved it! Both Ms Nicole and Mr Riley take the time to really teach the forms & techniques needed to not only learn how to protect yourself, but also have fun doing it as well! Action Karate is fantastic! Miss Nicole and Mr. Riley are great with kids. Both of my children (and I) have been taking classes since March (and July) and I can see improvements in their confidence and physical abilities. Miss Nicole and Mr. Riley are amazing at what they do! They really engage the children and give one on one feedback which is extremely helpful! Also they will stop and make sure your child understands the form before they move on. It is not just martial arts they are really encouraging a state of mind for life and planting seeds that will continue to grow into adulthood! I love that they gave real life scenarios on getting out of grabs it’s not just punching and kicking (which has its place).

Highly recommend! Mr. Riley and Miss. Nicole make all the kiddos work together and take responsibility. My child is special needs and I really appreciate that not only did they help with repetition and guidence but they make the classes fun too. The outside activities is very nice. I really like that they have season words for kids to remember and actually implement into their daily life. They have a brief circle time that relates to life. High Five!

5-Stars! Action Karate is fantastic & for everyone, young & old. I esp. like how Miss Nicole & Mr. Riley are excellent instructors & make class fun & understandable. They explain the reasons behind each self-defense movement so it makes sense & you can remember better. They teach it so well that Anyone can do it! You don't need prior experience nor to be in any athletic condition to do this class. Highly recommend! Mr. Riley and Ms. Nicole have been amazing to our daughter who can be shy and struggle a bit with confidence. They help her navigate any tough moments, and working through those moments in such an intentional way has already had a huge impact on her. Though the class is structured and routine, they are able to give each child personal attention, which is extremely beneficial. We couldn't be happier with our experience, and can't wait to see how Action Karate continues to challenge and positively impact our daughter!

There are not enough words I can about Ms. Nicole and the Action Karate team in Doylestown. I have seen such growth in my two children since they have started the program. They learn teamwork, self-control, and confidence! The excitement they have when told they are going to karate and the pride when they learn something new is awesome. We have been coming to Action Karate Doylestown since December 2023. I have to say that I have seen tremendous improvement in him. This location is a great, we love our instructors of Ms. Nicole, Mr. Riley and the entire leadership team. They truly care about your child and always make the class engaging and supportive for my son. I truly appreciate the skills that are taught and how helpful everyone is to ensure all the kids are paying attention and following along. The instructors are very helpful if a child is struggling. There is a lot more class availability that they offer. They teach kids about discipline, teamwork, grit, and so much more. It’s amazing to see how far my son has come and truly appreciate the dedication that the team offers for each child. I can say so much more positive things about Action Karate but I don’t want to ruin the fun and excitement for you. ;) We really love Action Karate and recommend it to everyone.

We have a good experience going to this place . I wanted my son to improve his focusing skills which was our goal when enrolling him in the class. Initially he did not have much interest but the way classes are designed they are exciting for small

Our 5 year old son has been enrolled in the NINJA SHARKS for about 4 months and he goes to class about 5 days a week for 30 minutes. He has ADHD and ASD and struggles with self-control, emotional regulation, impulse control, hyperactivity and social boundaries to name just a few. We previously had him in organized sports classes, like basketball but it was not a good fit for him. We were told Karate could be therapeutic so he participated in a trial class with Action Karate through his preschool. He was very excited to tell us about what he learned in his first week's exposure and he was motivated to participate. That is one thing that stood out for us and what made Action Karate a perfect fit for our son. Mr Riley and Ms Nicole not only keep all the kids engaged and in motion, they make the martial arts' philosophies of mental readiness, discipline and personal development a priority in every single class all while creating a fun energizing environment for the little ones. They have patience to deal with kids when they are having a hard time following directions or listening and have a lot of extra helpers in each class that keep everyone on point and in line. It is structured and routine and it works for those kids that need it! There are also multiple opportunities to socialize with the Action Karate community through mom's nights, dad's nights, races and more.

Our 10 year old son has had an amazing experience at Action Karate with Ms. Nicole and her team. The teachers pay attention to the students strengths and are so encouraging while also holding high expectations. The physical aspect of her program is strong and fun with character building mixed in to create the complete package. This is the perfect program if you are looking for an alternative team environment for your child to learn to set goals, build confidence and challenge himself. We are so grateful we found Ms. Nicole and her studio.

HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND. This particular action karate establishment goes above and beyond with extras and they focus on core foundational skills such as how to be adaptable and to move with confidence. My children are 3 and 6 and have grown tremendously since joining. They have shown improved discipline on self control and being able to sit still when needed. They are also showing great confidence in how they interact with others since taking karate. The extras I mentioned earlier include: random friendly positive enforcement post cards we have received, optional classes for mom and dads to join in with their kids. This particular location is amazing and the atmosphere is great!

I have attended self defense classes at Action Karate Doylestown for one year. I took advantage of Moms free in May after my grandson won a free class. My daughter and I watched our grandson and we both decided to take a class. I was hooked after the first class.
I never did much sports in school but I thoroughly love the experience and exercise.
The staff is wonderful and Ms Nicole and Mr Riley offer great encouragement and feedback. I have learned so much in this past year!
I look forward to each class and in addition to learning the defenses, I feel stronger and have lost the weight that I needed and with Ms Nicole’s formidable enthusiasm for success, I have more confidence. My son has been attending the dojo for over a year and has progressed to an orange belt. Both Ms. Nicole and Mr. Riley are exceptional instructors. They are firm but fair, creating a wonderful and supportive environment for learning karate. They emphasize the values of hard work, active listening, and respect, which have been instrumental in my son's development.

I decided to take a class at Action Karate in Doylestown on a whim as I missed group fitness classes post-COVID and I had a background in Tae Kwon Do. I always wanted to get back into martial arts so decided to try out this dojo. Ms. Nicole and Mr. Riley were so welcoming from our initial email correspondence to when I walked in the door. I immediately realized I found a supportive community in the instructors, as well as the other students in the adult class. Although the classes are mixed belt levels and ages, the workout challenges meet you where you are as they always offer various difficulty levels. And I love the focus on self-defense so you can walk out the door feeling stronger and more confident and capable than when you walked in. It’s hard to find community as an adult, so I’m really glad I found AK. A lot of families join AK together, but I still feel welcome attending by myself as a 30-something woman. I even participated in a tournament and just passed my first belt test! I’m in it for the long haul now!

We’ve allowed our two kids to enroll in programs and classes that they are drawn to, rather than trying to shoehorn them into our interests, or force them into a commitment for an activity they didn’t ask for in the first place.
A bit over a year ago, our (then) 8 year old son expressed interest in karate, and through a circuitous series of events, we landed in AK Doylestown. At first, we loved it because he loved it. Very quickly we noticed changes in his behavior; where before he started he tended to be distracted by all the world has to offer, but was now able to lock in and focus.
Miss Nicole made him feel so welcome, seen, and valued. It may be trite to say about a business that they make you feel like family, but it’s absolutely true here. And not just because Miss Nicole’s original teaching assistant was her own son!
Soon my wife and I started taking classes (trust me when I tell you, it was very.out of character for the two of us…) It has been transformative for our whole family. We communicate better, we laugh more, and personally, I am in the best physical condition of the last twenty years.
As word has spread, more and more families have been coming to AK Doylestown, and just like with my family, you’ll see mom or dad watching their kid train, and a few days later you’ll be learning self defense with that same parent out on the mat. The dojo’s growth hasn’t diluted the product one bit, if anything, it’s better when shared with more people. Mr. Riley is the newest addition to the training staff. He stands approximately 9 feet 7 inches, but never intimidates his students.
Again, at the risk of sounding corny, Action Karate Doylestown has been an incredible blessing to our family and our community. Come check it out, you’ll be glad you did!

We started our 3-year-old in classes at Action Karate Doylestown back in December, and it was the best decision! We weren't sure he was old enough yet, but the confidence and focus he has developed in the past few months has been amazing! It has been awesome to watch him grow, and to see how much passion he has developed for Karate! Ms. Nicole & Mr. Riley, along with their leadership team have been nothing but encouraging and supportive with our kiddo! Highly recommend starting them early!

If you are an adult or have kids, it doesn't matter - this is for you. You sit all day at work and need motivation to work out, it's for you. You don't like gym environments, it's for you. Our son started karate here 9 months ago and the difference in his attitude, confidence, habits, behaviors is enormous. Let's be real, kids don't come with a manual. They say it takes a village, but our village is non existent on a day to day basis, particularly if you are working parents. We found our village and our manual at AK. Miss Nicole and Mr. Riley are phenomenal in getting everyone inspired. They teach kids every single day about what really matters in life. Every month focuses on something different. Our son asks us to do "10 minute tidy" because Miss. Nicole and Mr. Riley ingrained it in them in such a fun and thoughtful manner that it resonates every day with him. Whenever he can't focus, we need to say "natural stance" and that becomes his reset. If he gets angry, he just sits and takes deep breaths. Now seriously, how many 5 year olds can do all this?! Even adults struggle with it!
Our son inspired us to try it out too. I don't exercise because I have no motivation - too tired, too much to do, want to sleep, too cold outside - I have all the excuses. But after trying it, we absolutely love it! Me and my husband look forward to going to karate for ourselves. It doesn't matter that I have spondyloarthritis. There are teenagers and 70 year olds in the class giving their best and having fun. Miss Nicole and Mr Riley encourage us and cheer us on. I never thought I'd look forward to exercising but here I am!

Our 5yo son has been with Action Karate for over a year now and we recently enrolled our 3yo daughter. Ms. Nicole and Mr. Riley are wonderful instructors and mentors to our kiddos. Our son has a speech delay and auditory struggles which sometimes gets the best of his mood, but Mr. Riley, Ms. Nicole and the rest of the AK family never give up on any of their ninjas. Well, this January will mark two years my son has been with AKD and two years they have been with us! At that first lesson, he was a 5 year old with a few rather complex things going on. It's easy now to forget that at the time I was asking myself, "Will this work? Can he do this?" It was an overwhelming time for my family. Yet, here we are and he is now in the big kids class, which was a rite of passage I am proud to say he had to earn. But, you see, there is more good news about Action Karate Doylestown and I have been waiting all year to tell you! Last November, I started my own training journey. I was so excited to promote AKD as a new year's resolution; however, I realized that it would be a hollow review if I failed to stick with it. Today, Nov. 27th (ironically Bruce Lee's birthday) is my one year anniversary! 🎂💐🎊 Now I get to revisit my original goal to inspire you to come join us on the mat. Be prepared, because you will laugh, you may cry, you will absolutely sweat (don't worry they sanitize everything!) AKD is a great time you didn't even know you needed.
And now, a few words about why I think you'll be as satisfied as I am...
Martial arts training is as much about the self defense skills we learn in each and every class should we ever need to protect ourselves from real life bad guys as it is about the warrrior stance we take with our own minds and habits. Has it been physically or financially easy to have succeeded in a whole year of training.
No, of course not. But it's been infinitely worth the transformation. Do I now feel younger and fit in my clothes better because Ms. Nicole or Mr. Riley waved their magic shark fin wands, of course not. Are they helping my son grow up to be the best version of himself without my willingness to look at myself and do the work, certainly not. Did I know a year ago how much simply punching and kicking targets and sweating would do to relieve my stress? No. But, boy am I glad I took a chance to find out! Whatever reasons you have for giving AKD a try be assured they will meet you every step of the way! Remember, you don't have to train in the martial arts. You GET to and that's a lot to be thankful for!

If you are considering trying karate lessons, I could not possibly recommend Action Karate Fountainville more highly!!!! Our 6 year old has been attending since the beginning of 2023. The value and positive outcomes to his development shaped by his participation in their program is something I am so grateful for. I watch every class feeling so thankful for Ms. Nicole and Mr. Riley. A parent couldn't hope for better karate instructors! They have a student for life, or at least until he's 18. AK Fountainville gets the highest marks for professionalism, expertise, and genuine caring for each individual child as a person. There could be 4 kids or 13 in a class and I see that each one still receives personal attention. This school is a very valuable part of our community and I know you will love them too!!

At our classes, you will be able to learn traditional karate and its
techniques, which include some fitness-based exercises.
Although each of our locations offers a different schedule, you can join us for your training sessions six days a week during our flexible time slots. This means we can accommodate your time schedule as and when you need it.
When you join us for your first karate training session, you should simply wear loose and comfortable clothing that you can move around in. What’s more is that once you join, you will receive a uniform that is included in the $49 introductory special.
Our karate classes are perfect for all individuals of varying skill levels and who fall into practically any age group. We have students from as young as three and as old as 103, making this one of the most versatile ways to help you achieve your health and fitness goals as well as learning important life skills that will benefit you immensely in all areas of your life.
