Action Karate Whitehall continues to be a place where my daughter feels confident! She came to a few “Buddy Weeks” with a friend and wasn’t sure karate was the right fit. Then suddenly she decided she wanted to give it a try and she was hooked! Mr. Keffer and Miss Danielle give each student attention, time, encouragement and help their students gain confidence through each and every class. My daughter loves her classes so much she started leadership training while teaching the Ninja and Junior classes. From a girl that didn’t want to participate in many activities, karate has helped her to branch out. We have truly seen a change in her confidence, she will step up on the soccer field and play solos at orchestra concerts; things we don’t feel she would have done as easily in the past. The Action Karate Whitehall staff makes everyone feel welcome and builds our kids up, they teach them discipline, respect and how to work hard!

My boys 9/12 started karate in 2022. The boys have learned and are developing many skills such as discipline, commitment, self defense and much, much more. My boys participate in a few other sports/ activities and I absolutely love that our karate schedule can be flexible each week and we can choose to come as many times as we wish weekly in person but also have the ability to complete on demand classes if needed. Miss Danielle and all instructors are super friendly and provide positive feedback and guidance. Action karate also offers extra fun nights/ activities for the students and families to participate in throughout the year. I would highly recommend Action Karate Whitehall to anyone and everyone. We love our karate family.

Action Karate is amazing!Even though they do group classes there is always someone there to help with one on one if needed. They have wonderful extra activities (movie nights /nurf night /tie dye) at least once a month to build comradery. They also have a "life lesson" each month or so; last one was being a champion in all you do!They teach karate as well as promote overall health and well being.Our son has shown great strides in both coordination, self confidence and in leadership skills.

I can't begin to describe how happy we are with Action Karate! Classes are so organized, starting and ending right on time. There's even a convenient app for sign-ups each week. Miss Danielle is a great instructor! She keeps her entire class focused while she teaches. She also ends each class with announcements so you are always in the loop on what's going on. My son looks forward to going every week!

Action Karate has been an amazing experience for my son! He stepped into the Whitehall school 5 years ago just after its opening. He was this incredibly shy little boy who did not speak to or make eye contact with anyone. He clung to dad and I at every opportunity he could. Within weeks we began to notice a difference … Mr Keffer and Miss Daniele were peeling back the layers of his shell. He fell in love. He started as just a white belt in basic training, within the first belt cycle he decided he wanted to get his junior black belt and he wanted to begin training with weapons. He joined the swat team and became only the second student of Action Karate Whitehall to get all the patches. He continued on and became the first student certified as a junior leader and the second student to become an assistant instructor. My son who was one of the shyest people I have ever known is an assistant instructor working toward one day opening his own school and becoming a head instructor. He communicates and makes eye contact daily with his instructors, students and parents with no issues. In public he now acknowledges people and makes eye contact with them and will greet and speak to them. My husband and I cannot thank Mr Keffer and Miss Daniele for the way they have opened up our son and changed his life. If you are on the fence do it, come in for a lesson, it just may change your life too!

My 14 year old daughter is autistic. A studio near our home initially said they would accept her, only to later say they did not have the capacity to give her the extra attention she would need. She was crushed.On a whim I made an appointment with Keith Keffer of ACTION KARATE in Whitehall.He assessed my daughter during a private lesson. He was patient and made her feel at ease. We left there with her new uniform.One year later she is still “Over the Moon” to go there every week.Great instructors and staff, great students, nice new location, lots of special events to keep things fun. A real feeling of community.This gave my daughter her identity. I can’t thank Keith and his staff enough.

I truly love this place my boys Caleb and Colby had a blast. I Love that they are involved in the community. The kids not only worked on learning about karate they were learning respect, discipline, cleanliness and kindness. The staff were always friendly yet stern and understanding when needed. What rocked was they both my boys are Autistic and they weren't treated differently. When one was exploding with energy it was redirected appropriatly without signs of them being frustrated or overwhelmed. We unfortunatly had some inexpected issue arrise and they were more than willing tonwork with us and offer different option as they could see how the boys were progressing and i was beyond grateful for their efforts. looking forward to returning as soon as we can.

Love miss Daniele, she is superb with the kiddos and the whole team is super supportive. They have a topic every week and children learn new every week. My kids love their karate class and they come to the class happy.

All 3 of my daughters have been in the Action Karate family for the past year. The teachers are amazing with students of all ages and they truly care about each and every one. They contact parents to to discuss the student’s progress, send notes of encouragement in the mail, celebrate every birthday, and make the experience meaningful. I have seen my shy daughter come out of her shell and all three are in the best shape of their lives. They also take the time and care to work with my daughter with special needs to help her keep up with the class. They treat all the students with respect. It’s never too late to start. My girls are teenagers, but there are also adults and classes for young children. If you are considering karate for your kids, send them to Action Karate Whitehall and you will see them grow and bloom.

I discovered my son had significant speech delay at a very young age. At around age three he was also diagnosed with Hypotonia which is muscle weakness, mainly in his wrist and ankles. He went through early intervention, speech, Pt and OT therapy etc..as a toddler but what now as a school age student? As any parent I had many questions like "will my child be able to learn to play sports, join a team or be friends with other kids. What's the best activity for him to help develop social skills?" One day in February 2019 I saw a post on Facebook about a new Action Karate School in my area. I reached out online but was a little hesitant about following through. I didn't want to set my son for failure knowing he wouldn't be able to follow the instructor moves or communicate with anyone due to his speech delay and shyness. I had no choice one day when Mr. Keffer gave me a call to follow up and that's where it all began. I signed my son up for karate after our private meet and greet. My son felt very comfortable and had a smile on his face, that's all it took to help me decide if this was the right choice for him. My son is now a total new and transformed child, he no longer covers his ears because it's noisy or loud. He has built strength and coordination. It took him about a year but now he is able to speak in front of others and even say the karate creed out loud along with the other students. My son struggled for many years in different areas and thanks to all the wonderful instructors, staff and peers my son has found his safe environment where he can continue to develop and show off every new skill he learns. This fall my son was able to paly soccer and he continued to impress me even more. He has also showed tremendous improvement in school. There are many benefits in martial arts, at Action Karate kids learn to coordinate their limbs, do specific stances and positions, develop strength while doing the blocks and punches with force and power. Instructors teach students how to have self discipline, respect, self control and to have fun. I can now describe my son as a confident young man who dedicates himself to keep pushing beyond his limits and not give up even when it's hard. My son will be testing for his Jr. Black Belt in mid December. This karate school provides a welcoming environment and are family oriented. Big shout out to Mr. Keffer, Miss. Daniele and the rest of the staff.

Both of my sons have been doing karate there for over two years and me and my wife have been taking the classes for over a year. Mr. Keffer and his staff are the best instructors I have ever known. Before our son started at Action Karate he was shy, and lacked confidence. After his initial week we saw a big change in him. He started to believe in himself and was now being challenged. Ever since he has been getting A's and B's in school. He's confident, and enjoys the challenges he gets in class. He is now part of Demo Team, Black Belt Leadership, Certified SWAT (Special Winning Attitude Team), and will be testing for his Jr Black Belt in June 2021 (All this in 2 years). The Instructors are EXCELLENT with all the students (kids and adults alike).

When can I attend karate classes at Action Karate?

Although each of our locations offers a different schedule, you can join us for your training sessions six days a week during our flexible time slots. This means we can accommodate your time schedule as and when you need it.

What should I wear to my first training session?
