Both my son and daughter started at Dinoto Karate Center over 3 years ago when my son was 3 and my daughter was 6. While my daughter enjoyed it, she shifted to many many dance classes after half a year. My son however is now an Orange belt in the intermediate class and made it all the way through Little Champions and then the Beginner classes and love it. Master Laciaga and Master Magill have made the it special for him the entire way through. He now is excited to not just learn but to also assist with the younger students in Little Champions and is on his way to becoming a leader.

It’s honestly the BEST place for kids and families! My daughter absolutely loves it!! She even asks to go to the gym on Sundays! The trainers are amazing: so kind, so patient, and they really know how to bring out the best in the kids!! What I love most is the guidance and discipline they teach. My daughter has learned so much about focus, discipline, and commitment!! We are SOOOO happy to be part of this gym! I truly, wholeheartedly recommend it for kids and families..!! My family started training at Dinoto in 2019, first was our oldest kid, then my husband started, then our middle child, then me, and hopefully in the near future, our youngest will be training as well.
We have all built confidence, gained focus, and had a lot of fun. When the kids used to tell me they were tired after a class, I didn't believe them, but after about 6 months of training, I can verify classes do leave you tired in the best way.
Classes build techniques in both martial arts and self defense, give you an opportunity to meet and train people who you might never have gotten to meet otherwise, and usually end a cool down that makes you think a little bit. There are many opportunities to get to know the school community throughout the year - trunk or treat, holiday social, bring mom/dad/sibling/friend to karate weeks/months, so on and so forth. I can honestly say that many of the people I feel most connected with I met at Dinoto.
My personal favorite thing about DKC is they are very welcoming of everyone - there is no need to be anywhere near the "stereotypical martial artists". There are students in all stages of life, all ability levels, all shapes and sizes, who all work to achieve their personal goals. Want to become a Tang Soo do Master? Great - there's roughly a half dozen Masters beyond Master Magill and Master Liciaga who would love to help you. Want to just move more but are shy? Great, we have people on the mats (like me) that were where you're at at one point too - they can help encourage you. Afraid you're too old? Come to the 7:15 adults class, which usually has multiple people who will show you age is just a number. Worried that your kid with special needs will struggle? I personally have trained in classes with students with multiple types of different abilities, and all were treated with respect, dignity, and encouragement to continue making progress at they're level. My youngest has Down syndrome and I know that there's no place I trust more for her to learn karate than Dinoto.

My kids love Dinoto Karate! One of our kids has Cerebral Palsy. However we don’t let her physical disabilities stop her! Neither did Master Magill! He came up with a game plan to help accommodate certain movements. She absolutely loves going to karate and seeing everyone there. It’s a great community to have in our corner!
My daughter struggles with mutism and anxiety. She is 8 now and most days it’s a fight to get her out of the house. The staff at Dinoto Karate Center have been the biggest blessing to my family. They formed a bond with her that has given her the confidence to try new things like never before. As a child development specialist, myself, I have never seen such natural talent before. They have a gift for working with children. The core values of this center are unmatched. Not only will your child have a new understanding of self confidence, they will also learn how to be respectable members of society. If you had asked me 6 months ago if all 4 of the people in my family would be training in martial arts together, I would have told you no way, but here we are! The first kiddo started after a friend’s super fun birthday party and one by one we each found our place in class. The teachers are very dedicated, fun, and skilled teachers. They are committed to using best practices and developmentally appropriate teaching for the different age groups. We are having such a great time and are all learning so much.
This is definitely the best sport and place I’ve ever enrolled my child in. They not only focus on their goal to help your child become the best black belt they can be but they give the kiddos so much confidence and shape them to be the best version of themselves! I am a student at Action Karate in Mount Laurel, New Jersey under the tutelage of Masters Peter Liciaga and Colan Magill. I have been training at this school for a little over 6 months. Throughout the course of my life, I have been in and out of martial arts. I have actually attended six different martial art schools. By far, this has been one of the greatest experiences that I have had thus far. These gentlemen do not only teach you the art but but prepare students for life by Applying the principles within the arts to life’s journey. They use the martial art to help develop personality and build strong character within the students preparing them for healthy and productive living. The classes are structured and disciplined, yet nurturing to each individuals needs. While there is a very strong emphasis on the techniques and how we execute, of equal importance within this dojo are character traits and values such as respect, humility, integrity, teamwork, perseverance and mental resilience. All of the instructors teach and train us in a manner that is supportive creating an atmosphere that motivates us to show up and give our very best in all aspects of training. I would recommend the school anyone that is interested in Martial arts, and both personal and physical development.

Our son was enrolled at another karate school with his friends from school. The commute became tiresome for us and our son. We tried Dinoto Karate Center on the recommendation of my brother-in-law; all three of his children went here. Needless to say, our son loved it more than the other school. Watching our son enjoyed his time on the mats here made me (us) a bit jealous, so I joined him on the mats last January, my wife followed last May.

We started this journey over 3 years ago, signing our son Cristian up for classes during the pandemic, to help him build his confidence. Throughout his journey attending weekly martial arts training and leadership training at Dinoto Karate, it has been truly remarkable to watch Cristian grow in all aspects of his life. He has not only built the confidence to lead and continue pushing himself outside of his comfort zone at karate, but he also carries those skills at home and at school. My son has never done karate before. He started at the beginning of the school year and has really enjoyed his classes
We've had a wonderful experience so far. We especially love how the focus is not only on learning the physical aspects of karate, but also on learning how to be a thoughtful, purposeful and respectful human.
My son going to Action Karate in Mt.Laurel is more than just learning Karate skills or self respect I enjoy listening to all the good advice and tools given that help us with the hard parts of life. I even walk out of class feeling inspired and equipped with a stronger mindset! We love it!
My daughters were skeptical when I mentioned about enrolling them for Martial arts. I told them to try this for the summer and they have not noticed that the summer vacation has gone by and are continuing to do this even after the school year started. They both enjoy the classes very much and have certainly learned a lot in the past few months and am certain they will do this for a while. In addition to being a great master , Master Magill does great work talking about discipline with the kids and we are beginning to see the difference with my daughters staying off the screens when it is not in their schedule and with getting ready to school on time. Master Liciaga is great with keeping the classes organized and is always in touch with parents to provide updates or discuss any upcoming events. We will miss this place when we have to move later in the year. Thank you for running a great martial arts place in the area.
I can not express how amazing this Karate school is my child was having issues with confidence and had anxiety about school and doing new things. After the first week of classes my child seemed so much happier after a few months my child’s grades have improved at school. My child looks forward to coming to class every single week!!! My son started at Dinoto karate when he was 6 years old and we enrolled him because he was extensively shy and we wanted him to gain some confidence and learn some self discipline. Needless to say it's been an amazing experience 6 years later and he's about to become a 2nd degree black belt this October. The instructors are all well trained master level and they know you kids in and out by name. Our son loved this so much when we moved we wouldn't switch dojo's and we continue to stay at Dinoto. You truly feel like a family there and we love having the same instructors and not random kids teaching classes which is what some dojo's do. We can't say enough good things about Dinoto karate from master Dinoto to master liciaga (both liciagas) and of course master magill. These place is truly special and everyone would benefit greatly from enrolling there kids at this studio.

At our classes, you will be able to learn traditional karate and its
techniques, which include some fitness-based exercises.
Although each of our locations offers a different schedule, you can join us for your training sessions six days a week during our flexible time slots. This means we can accommodate your time schedule as and when you need it.
When you join us for your first karate training session, you should simply wear loose and comfortable clothing that you can move around in. What’s more is that once you join, you will receive a uniform that is included in the $49 introductory special.
